Day #15 George Washington Monument

We waited outside in the hot sun to go up the Washington Monument. We almost just skipped it because the line was long and they were running behind... even though we had tickets. The views from the top are spectacular! You can see all of DC.
We had planned to have me take the girls to the Nat Zoo and the boys were going to go to the spy museum, but by this time it was about 3:30 and we were so hot and tired and ready to head back home. We had all gotten up about 6:30 this morning- Eric went and bought new tires and I took the boys and stood in line for tickets for the days events. So we walked back to the metro and headed home to our campground, Cherry Hill RV Park. It's the closest one to DC and still it takes about an hour to get there by metro. This time we drove to a metro station so we didn't have to take a 20 minute bus ride to the campground. Wish we would've discovered that on Saturday.
It was our last day in DC and we saw a lot! We could have stayed there for ten days and still not seen everything... just had to pick and choose what we thought would be the best.
