Ellis island was the main thing I wanted to see while we were in NY. We went there last time we were here but we didn't have as much time as we wanted. I could've stayed all day! I love looking at the old photos and reading the stories of the millions of people who came through, some of them my ancestors! Sadly the kids didn't share my joy for the museum and were unhappy after a couple of hours. Hurricane Sandy ruined the heating and a/c systems and they are still recovering from it. The day we were there was the first day they'd had a/c and they were running on generators. It was still pretty hot in there.
